Progress and lessons learned after one year of anti-racism efforts in the geosciences

As we approach one year since George Floyd’s murder and the subsequent calls to action for racial justice in society and anti-racism in the geosciences, we invite reflections from current and emerging leaders and community members in a follow-up workshop. We will hear updates from a panel of speakers who have been leading anti-racism efforts over the past year and provide space to support and build solidarity with the Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) geoscience community in the wake of increasingly visible anti-AAPI racism and violence in the US. We will invite participants to share actions taken, challenges faced, and progress made towards implementing anti-racist actions in institutions and the broader geoscience community.
