Pedro Marenco is Associate Professor of Geology at Bryn Myar College. His research involves the use of sedimentary and geochemical approaches to solve paleobiological problems. He has been awarded a grant from the National Science Foundation to study the link between extreme volcanism, global warming and ocean acidification following the End Permian mass extinction, the largest biotic crisis in Earth history. Marenco has served taught in outreach programs for high school students interested in science and math, and currently serves on the Diversity and Inclusion Committee for the Paleontological Society. He received his BS in Computer Engineering and Computer Science; and his MS and Ph.D. in Geological Sciences all from the University of Southern California.
